What We Believe
Change takes time
Change doesn't happen overnight.
Our current state of being is the result of over 150 years of intentional colonial harm, and is also the result of continuous resistance to attempts at erasure.
Creating meaningful and lasting change requires us to acknowledge the relationship between the past and present, and take this into account when we plan for the future.
Change is ongoing
'Change' isn't a fixed destination.
Learning (and unlearning) are core drivers of change: the more we know, the more we can create equitable relationships with the people and institutions around us.
We need to be intentional about our commitment to ongoing and sustainable change -- there is no limit to the change we can create.
Change takes great care
Change isn't easy.
Change can be messy, draining, and scary at times. Caring for ourselves, our communities, and our collectives is central to sustainable change.
We can strive for radical change, while simultaneously rejecting perfectionism, and ensuring that we care for each other in the process.
